Time to Celebrate! Goodies for Bridging & Beyond…

Time to Celebrate! Goodies for Bridging & Beyond… Summer is approaching and end of the year celebrations are in full swing! Many of you have been with me for years and I’ve had the fun of seeing troops go from Daisies, to Brownies, to Juniors and now to Cadettes! As I was working on a custom order this week I created a few unique Cadette Troop logos.  These four new logos are all one-of-a-kind and I will only sell one of each. What does that mean? It means you can have a custom logo for your troop that no one […]

Freebies: 2015 Tags and a Trefoil Line!

I love my iamstrawjenberry (formerly iamgirlscouts) peeps!  I’m working on all of your suggestions for resources, so keep them coming.  First, I updated the gift tag for 2015.  To make it fancy, simply mount it on a couple of layers of scrapbook paper and punch a hole in the top.  Voila!  You can add it to bridging gifts, cookie incentives or end of the year treats. To see how I used them in 2014, go here. The tags are updated yearly! Download the tags for the current year here. Another suggestion, from another awesome reader, was to create a horizontal line or […]

Cookie Recap!

Cookie Recap!   Compared to last year, this year’s cookie sales were a breeze.  Why?  We set realistic goals!  The Girl Scout cookie market becomes saturated after two weeks of booth sales in our area.  Sales are still great but they tend to slow as the cookies become more “visible” after pre-sales.  So we ordered less cookies for booth sales than we had the previous year.  For the new Cranberry Citrus Crisps we had samples out at each booth sale.  One of the big selling points was that they are great with tea!  We were a pilot council for the […]

The Bittersweet End of the Year….and a Freebie!

The Bittersweet End of the Year….and a Freebie! I’m always relieved when the last service unit leader meeting comes and goes in June.  Our service unit ends the year with awards, raffle prizes and a mother-daughter ice cream social.  Afterwards, I breathe a sigh of relief that there is one less obligation to contend with and one more Monday a month that I can enjoy summer!  I think back to February and March when I toyed with the idea of holding meetings during the summer.  I always come to my senses in May and realize that summers off are a […]

A Troop Thank You!

My Brownie Troop was very ambitious with cookie sales this year.  So ambitious that halfway through the sales period we {me} began to panic that we’d bitten off more than we could chew (which we did–but that’s another post completely!) I reached out to folks in the community that I had relationships with and my former employer, a flower shop, agreed to do a permanent “booth” sale for us.  This took the form of shelf space displaying boxes of cookies.  As customers came in to buy flowers, they were asked if they were interested in buying Girl Scout cookies.  Many […]
