aMUSE in a Day Outline & Photo Album   The strawjenberry “Comprehensive Guide to Completing the aMUSE Journey in a Day” has been completed.  Whoop! This post is the accompanying photo album. My photography skills are not so great (next on my list of skill building tasks!) are mediocre at best.  For that reason I didn’t want to include photos in the e-book.  Hopefully they will give you a visual of the day and help you come up with ideas.   Journey Outline A. Looking for Camps you Attended as a Girl Scout?

Looking for Camps you Attended as a Girl Scout? ***Update July 2020*** Unfortunately this site is no longer active 🙁 Such a bummer. I wish I had downloaded some pics before it went offline. The domain is still registered but there isn’t any content. Here is by far the latest and greatest of websites I’ve found for Girl Scout nostalgia.  We are so lucky to have the internet.  We have access to a vast array of OPP (Other People’s Photos) from before many of us were even born.  Since I have very few photographs from my year’s in Girl Scouts […]

Courage, Confidence & Character…80’s Style!

Courage, Confidence & Character…80’s Style! Anyone who knows me, knows how nostalgic I am about my three years as a Girl Scout.  I was a Junior from 1980-1983, back when 4th, 5th and 6th graders were Juniors and Daisies hadn’t been created yet. In 1982, my troop took a weekend trip to Skyland Ranch near Banning, California. Sitting in the lodge one night at Skyland, eating chocolate pudding out of ice cream cones, the leaders gave us an activity:  design a badge for the upcoming skate party.  This was a big deal!  Not only was the party going to be […]

I’m in Utah!!

I’m in Utah!! Yesterday, after a hop skip and a jump in the clouds from Sacramento, I stepped off the plane to a warm, sunny day in Salt Lake City.  A friend of mine from high school lives in Tooele, Utah, about 40 miles from SLC.  She treated me to the culinary delights of The Red Iguana, a restaurant famously featured on Diners, Drive-ins and Dives.  I had a delicious dish, called Puntas De Filete a la Nortena, which is top sirloin tips sautéed with bacon, jalapeño strips, onions and fresh tomatoes, served with almond mole,   served with corn […]

The Cadette Tracker is here! Boy, I’m on a roll!  I’ve gotten the Cadette tracker done and the Daisy tracker will be done today too. I hope you find this useful! I’ll be a Cadette leader next year and making this tracker got me excited about taking the girls to the next level of Girl Scouting.  This tracker allows troop leaders to document badge requirements for each girl. Includes all of the new Legacy and Journey badges in the Girls Guide to Girl Scouting. Each page includes one badge. For my troop, I printed the sheets in color, double-sided, then […]
